Building a Strong Educational Foundation for Every Child
Education is at the heart of community transformation. Our Education & Child Development Program is designed to support children and young learners especially those facing vulnerability with tools and opportunities that build their confidence, knowledge, and future potential.
Many children in refugee and host communities face barriers such as limited access to schools, language challenges, and safety concerns. Alight of Africa works to bridge these gaps through literacy programs, early childhood support, and child protection initiatives. By fostering a safe and supportive learning environment, we help children grow academically, emotionally, and socially.
Activities
1. Basic Education Support
We help learners access foundational education through community tutoring, homework support, learning materials, and partnerships with local schools.
2. Literacy & Language Classes
We offer literacy sessions and language learning programs to support children, youth, and adults who need help with reading, writing, or English proficiency.
3. Early Childhood Development (ECD
We provide structured activities that promote cognitive development, creativity, social skills, and emotional growth for young children.
4. Support for Children at Risk
We work with families and communities to identify and protect children who face abuse, neglect, discrimination, or other vulnerabilities.
5. Mentorship & Life Skills Training
We guide young learners through mentorship, motivation sessions, and life skills such as communication, discipline, and problem-solving.
