Health, WASH & Environment
Promoting healthy communities through improved hygiene, sanitation, environmental conservation, and access to health information.
Building Healthier and Safer Communities
Good health and a clean environment are essential for human dignity and sustainable development. Our Health, WASH & Environment Program focuses on improving community well-being by promoting healthy practices, access to accurate health information, and environmental responsibility.
Refugee and host communities often face challenges such as poor sanitation, limited clean water access, preventable diseases, and environmental degradation. Alight of Africa works closely with communities to raise awareness, encourage behavior change, and support practical actions that lead to healthier living conditions and environmental sustainability.
What This Program Does

1. Health Awareness & Referrals
We conduct community health education sessions on disease prevention, nutrition, maternal and child health, and refer community members to appropriate health services when needed.

2. Hygiene & Sanitation Promotion
We promote good hygiene practices such as handwashing, proper waste disposal, and household sanitation to reduce the spread of disease.

3. WASH Education & Sensitization
We educate communities on safe water use, sanitation, and hygiene practices that contribute to healthier households and public spaces.

4. Environmental Conservation & Tree Planting
We engage communities in tree planting, environmental protection activities, and awareness campaigns to combat deforestation and climate-related challenges.

5. Community Safety & Clean-Up Campaigns
We organize community clean-up initiatives that improve sanitation, promote ownership, and strengthen collective responsibility.
